I had seen Popilush shapewear dresses all over social media, and I finally decided to try one for myself. I’ll admit, this one was definitely more of a splurge than the dresses I normally buy, so I really wanted to know if the built-in shapewear and support were actually worth the higher price.
I ended up ordering this gorgeous red off-the-shoulder dress and wore it to a wedding. After actually spending an entire event in it—not just trying it on for a few minutes—I can say I was really impressed.
How Does the Popilush Shapewear Dress Fit?
For reference, I’m 5'6", around 128 pounds, typically wear a size medium, and I have a fuller bust. I ordered the dress in a Medium, and the fit was great for me.
The shapewear is built right into the dress, so it definitely has some compression when you're putting it on. Once I had it on and everything situated, though, I loved the way it fit.
Does Popilush Shapewear Actually Work?
For me, yes.
The built-in shapewear smoothed everything out and gave the dress a really flattering shape without me having to add another layer of shapewear underneath. That's probably my favorite thing about the dress because it takes some of the guesswork out of figuring out what to wear under it.
And since I actually wore it to a wedding, I got to test it through sitting, eating, walking around and dancing—not just standing still for pictures. 😂 It stayed looking good throughout the night.
Does the Popilush Dress Have Enough Bust Support?
Finding a dress that works with a fuller bust isn’t always easy for me, especially with an off-the-shoulder style. This was actually one of the things that impressed me most about the Popilush dress. The built-in bra helped everything feel secure and gave me a flattering shape without feeling like I needed to keep adjusting the dress all night.
For reference, I wear a 34DDD, so bust support is something I pay attention to when I’m shopping for special-occasion dresses. I felt comfortable and supported wearing this one through the entire wedding, including plenty of dancing.
What I Love About My Popilush Shapewear Dress
The biggest selling point for me is that so much is already built into the dress. I love the support through the bust, the built-in shapewear and the way it smooths without looking like an obvious shapewear dress.
I also really love the off-the-shoulder neckline. The red is beautiful in person and would be especially pretty for weddings, Christmas parties, holiday events, Valentine's Day or any special occasion where you want something a little dressier.
What I Don’t Love About the Popilush Dress
The price. 😂
This is definitely more than I usually spend on a dress, especially compared with some of my Amazon finds under $100. That was the main reason I hesitated before ordering it.
But I also think it's fair to compare what you're getting. With this one, I didn't have to figure out separate shapewear or worry nearly as much about support. After wearing it to an actual event, I understood why it costs more than some of my other dresses.
Is a Popilush Shapewear Dress Worth It?
For me, yes—especially if built-in support and shapewear are important to you.
If you're someone with a fuller bust who has a hard time finding special-occasion dresses that feel supportive and flattering, this is one I would recommend looking at. I felt comfortable, supported and really good in it, which is ultimately what I want when I'm going to be wearing a dress for hours.
Would I replace all of my affordable dresses with Popilush? No. I still love finding a good dress for under $100. But for a special occasion when I want the extra support and built-in shapewear, I would absolutely wear this one again.
